Bourton lady wing walks for Local charity

On Friday 20th September, I  drove across the beautiful sunny Cotswolds and arrived at Rendcombe Airfield a lovely setting to witness Lynda Hicks doing a wing walk to raise funds for Kates Home Nursing of Stow on the Wold.

Rendcombe Airfield was originally a WW1 airfield, used to train badly needed pilots for the Western Front and is now partly used by Aerosuperbatics.

Lynda Hicks is a brave lady and to hear of her many adventures on behalf of charity, please tune into The Pete Wilson Show on BBC Radio Glos iplayer, aired at 12.00 on the 8th September 2019.

Despite Lynda’s flight being delayed, all went well with perfect flying conditions and after a 10 minute flight around a perfect blue sky with speeds of around 100knots Lynda landed safely back to earth!!

The aeroplane was a 1940 Boeing Stearman 450 HP radial piston engined bi -plane.

The total sum raised was £3000, a huge thanks to the generous support of the public and sponsors.
