Macchu Picchu Trail

Natasha Aliende Cox has taken on an enormous challenge, for which we would like to thank her. The reason Natasha is doing this on behalf of Kate’s is best explained in her own words:

“Two years ago, my brother and I sadly lost our beloved mother Rosemary Barratt who was very suddenly diagnosed with both stage 4 ovarian and pancreatic cancers. When it was time not many months after, for her to receive palliative care, I gave up my job to care for her. But I could not have done it alone. Not a million thanks could ever be enough to show my gratitude to the Angels that are Kates Home Nursing. Right from the start until the end, the qualified nursing team began to offer their support by being there, every single day with every day care and compassion. When my brother and I needed respite, they would come and sit with Mum throughout the night until morning so we could get some sleep. This is a charity that I hold very dear to my heart and I will always be eternally grateful to them for everything. But without funding, they would not be able to operate and help others out there, going through this most difficult of times.

I promised my mother that I would take on a challenge to help raise funds for Kates, and we spoke about the Macchu Picchu trail in Peru. ‘When you get to the top of the mountain… will you scream as loud as you can for me Tasha???’ Such was her frustration with the situation of which she had no control over.

So I embark on 8 months of training for this 10 day ’tough’ trek with Charity Challenge, will you join me on this adventure and if you would like to and can, donate a little towards this cause?

I thank you all from the bottom of my heart .”
